2018. Aluminum wheels transport system
Another two-level automatic transport system. The devices serve to improve and organize the work at the inspection, repair and palletizing stations for aluminum wheels.
What deserves special attention is the very short assembly and start-up time (5 days) as well as some functional improvements, which were added to the system. The limited space in the system width precluded the use of classic 180° arches. Instead, our designers planned the combination of a 90° arch with a straight perpendicular section whose speed is higher than the speed of the other devices. This allows for a collision-free passage between the conveyor modules with the support of a slewing wheel placed in the corner on the axis of rotation. This is a simple and economical solution. In addition, it allows constant wheel spacing to be maintained during transport on straight sections.
In addition, the system has an intelligent wheel release on the siding. Only when there is free space on the siding, the wheels are directed to it. Otherwise they circulate through the system.
As in previous implementations, the system is two-stage and fully automatic. Regardless of the driven devices, as a complement for the whole process performed at the customer's, PROMAG delivered 10 non-driven lift gates, which increase comfort and safety during manual taking of wheels from independent production line to product inspection tables.
