2019. Container transport system for a distributor of automotive parts

The photos of this project show a conveyor system made for another customer involved in the distribution of automotive parts. Unlike the previous implementation, the logic of the system operation consists in picking the goods into containers and their transport to the proper packing and shipping area.

The process begins on the warehouse mezzanine, where loading lines are located on 4 levels. After completing the order for the container, the employees place it on rollers, and then it is automatically transported through a system of conveyors connecting the lines into one collective flyover, led through several storage rooms. Depending on the destination of the goods in the container, it is directed to one of the two sorting areas. Each such area consists of a buffer loop and gravity sidings. The containers are identified with a barcode scanner and, based on the data contained in this code, are directed to the appropriate siding, from where they are picked up by employees.

The system is characterized by high flow efficiency through key nodes (over 1,200 containers per hour) thanks to the use of "pop-up" angle slides. Communication between many levels was ensured by means of diagonal belt conveyors. Sorting in the container collection area is carried out by modular strip transfers. The roller line drive technology based on electric rollers guarantees safety, high quality, simplicity, but low energy consumption. It is perfect both in densely buffering functional areas of the system and on flyovers that transport containers over long distances.

The above technical configuration is the optimal solution to the functionality required by the processes performed in the customer's warehouse.
