Container and carton transport system with a total length of 1 km

We have developed a comprehensive returns handling solution for Ingram Micro CFS Fulfilment, the leading provider of e-commerce services in the European market. A multi-level system of roller and belt conveyors integrated with workstations ensures a two-way flow of parcels and containers, along with a dedicated system of waste disposal to an automatically controlled baling machine and press container. The system can automatically redirect waste between the devices in case of excessive load.

The system has a function of buffering incoming cartons thanks to the application of specially modified rolls. In order to ensure personnel safety, safety ropes are used at work heights instead of standard solutions based on EMS buttons. In effect, immediate response and emergency stopping is possible at any point in the system.

An interesting functionality developed for the project is the so-called "wintertime system" - a separate circuit and electrical cabinet coupled with a temperature sensor. Control of conveyor belts located outside the building, ensuring temporary cyclical start-up of the drives in case of ambient temperature below 5°C. The purpose of this construction is to prevent freezing of the conveyor belts in unfavourable weather conditions.

The total length of all conveyors in the system reaches 1 km. The scale of the project and its implementation within 4 months from contract signature confirm PROMAG's engineering capabilities and optimum production capacity in the context of investing in complex transport and storage systems.
